Grateful

Yesterday I went and visited a family who lived in a mobile home. The dad of the home even said "we're gonna buy this crappy trailer" except not so eloquently. He was in our records as a member but I don't think he's been to church in a long time. There were cigarettes everywhere outside and the dad just wore pajama pants and a t shirt the whole time. There were three kids in the household, a 13 year old boy, and two little girls who were like 5 and 3. The parents were very loud with each other and very blunt with their kids. The mom said that all the kids are from different fathers and only the youngest girl was her and the dad's at the house. She said that she's been homeless before and that she's lived on the roads. She also told us that she had to refrain from using the F word about 50 times while we were there and that it was one of their 3 year oldest favorite words. It was very sad to me because that little girl doesn't know any different. T...

大家好!你們好不好嗎? This week has taken me halfway across the world!  It all started on Wednesday. Sister Johnson and I were just chilling at Sister Afoa's apartment with her new companion, playing Apples to Apples, when Brother and Sister Larson (the mission travel coordinators) came to pick us up. They drove us and all of our things to the airport and took us in so they could get our bags all checked for us. It was $100 per person for our bags so rip. They were able to check them all the way to Hong Kong though so that was awesome. We did run into a little trouble when dropping off our bags though. The lady had to read through this whole thing and make sure we had all the paperwork for Hong Kong and she was concerned because her computer said that Hong Kong isn't letting anyone from America in and there are no exceptions. She said that we had all the paperwork that we needed in order to get in though. She read things over and pondered for a good 10 minutes before being like "I...

Last week in Pavillion!

大家好! This week has been so fun and so busy! So I'll just get right into it. On Wednesday we had our last district council. It was pretty sad but also so much fun! Sister Steiner and I got to teach a short training about praying with faith and it was awesome! It honestly all comes down to D&C 42:14 14 And the Spirit shall be given unto you by the prayer of faith; and if ye receive not the Spirit ye shall not teach. We need to pray so we can have the Spirit because as missionaries, we are teachers and the Spirit is the source of our teaching power. I love this verse so much and I think that if I can continue to remember this, I will have more Spirit led prayers :) After district council, we had an early celebration of my birthday because when it's actually my birthday I'll be in quarantine haha. Sister Steiner told everyone to bring lemon stuff because I like lemon cake. So she made lemon bars, Elder Keenan and Nicholls made an awesome lemon cake, Elder Hedquist and Nic...

大家好, 是丁姊妹 in the house!!!! This week has been AMAZING! And so full of miracles! But first and foremost, the news about Hong Kong!!! I was actually in language study over zoom with Jōng jímuih (Sister Johnson) when she said "have you checked your email??" I was like, no way 😲, but I checked and it happened!! I got travel plans!!!! 🎉🎉🎉 I will be leaving out of Denver at 5pm on the 15th and flying from there to LAX and then at midnight there, I will fly out to Hong Kong! It's so bizarre to think that I'll be back home in LA for a few hours before heading to Hong Kong! If any of you are in the airport at that time, stop by haha.  I am so happy that I get to go to Hong Kong but there are still some things to figure out before that can happen. I know from my district going, that I need to have my middle name on my covid test in order to be let on the plane so I've got to make sure that gets done. I was a little worried because the mission travel department is supp...
