 早晨大家!

So great to be able to email you yet again! I can't think of any witty banter so I'll just get right to the events of this week 🤠

Last Monday for pday Sister Bohman and I bought Disneyland tickets!! So excited! We're going to go maybe next week so we're hyped! Other than that we got lost trying to find the restaurant we wanted to eat at but don't worry we made it in the end and had some great Vietnamese food! We also bought gifts for our zone gift exchange coming up and then got groceries and went home for an exciting session of weekly planning 😀

So much stuff on the bus 😀🚌
Tuesday was fun because we had time to do some finding!! We did an hour of Facebook finding, an hour of potential call finding, and an hour of outdoor finding so it was a busy day! For our outdoor finding we went down by these schools and were able to talk to lots of high school kids which was interesting haha. We passed out a lot of flyers for the upcoming STEM activity and then also passed out some English class cards and just our straight up phone number. I'm not sure if any of the people we talked to will have interest but I know that God will never let our efforts go to waste!

Morning selfie 😁
Wednesday was pretty busy because we had a mission wide post-MTC meeting in Kowloon Tong. Basically it was the second in Presidents installments of giving us training that we were "supposed" to get in the MTC but didn't. We talked a lot about having a conversation with someone on the train, pday safety, and how we can turn stress into a positive thing. President showed us a whole breathing exercise and everything, it was great. After the meeting ended, there was a cha siu faan lunch for all of the apartment leaders and their companions and seeing as my companion is one of those, I got in on that action 😏. After eating, the apartment leaders stayed for the meeting and I went with some of the non-apartment leaders to the chapel where we hung out and did language study. It was pretty sweet. When the meeting was over, Sister Bohman and I did some music practice before going home.

Sister Bohman and I getting pizza!
On Thursday we had choir practice as always so we were at the mission office in Kowloon Tong for that. While we were there Sister Bohman worked on a flyer for a music council activity and then after that we taught a lesson over phone call to our friend Emily. Emily has been super great about keeping commitments and seems like she really believes in the gospel but the problem is she hasn't been coming to church. Her fiance is a member but he's less active and is usually busy with work on Sundays and she always wants to go with him but since he doesn't then she doesn't. So we taught her about keeping the Sabbath Day holy and she committed to coming to church this week. We even sent her the address and pictures of the church and everything. We were pretty excited. After finishing teaching her, our zone had a practice for a skit that we will be doing at zone conference. Every zone is supposed to do like a 10 minute thing so it'll be interesting haha. We're doing our own sort of version of the nativity story and I love it, I think it's super funny. Other than that, the only other exciting thing we did was Sister Bohman and I taught our ECG class about colors. One of our students had her daughter with her and she kept making really cute comments so that was fun haha.

Wan Chai dinner gang!
Friday we first went to Kowloon Tong so Sister Bohman could work more on the flyer with some of the other music council members and then after that we traveled to Ho Man Tin to teach Chan jimuih. We weren't sure if she'd come though. That morning we had missed some calls from some numbers we didn't recognize and when we listened to the voicemails we could hear Chan jimuih in the background and it sounded like she was borrowing her friends' phones to call us. We tried calling back and her friends said that her phone was dead which is why she borrowed their phones and that she'd probably try calling us later. We didn't get a call though and then sure enough, Chan jimuih didn't show up to our lesson. We were pretty sad and I felt really bad that we didn't pick up the calls earlier and talk with her. But we continued on with our day. We just did some studies and music practice and then had dinner and sports night. Sports night was super fun this week because so many people showed up! We got to play a huge game of spiderball as well as some volleyball which was sweet. A pretty fun day in the end!

Some awesome building Christmas lights!
On Saturday we were in Wan Chai for basically the whole day. Sister Bohman and I got lunch there and then we had a quick choir rehearsal before we performed for our concert. A lot of people came which was super awesome and guess who else came? Yip Taai and her husband!! It was super cool to see her for the second time in person and for Sister Bohman to meet her in person. Sadly she still didn't come to church but at least she came to the concert. It honestly went super well (except for some mic feedback) and Sister Bohman and Sister Evans even got to perform a singing duet with the ukulele which was beautiful! After the singing part of the event ended, Sister Bohman and I with three other companionships of sisters, including Sister Santos and two of my MTC mates Sister Johnson and Sister Korth, went and got dinner at Mcdonalds! We chatted for a long time and it was so nice! Definitely a great night.

The upper shelf is mostly snacks that we got but we put all
of the noodles andchocolate we got in a different
cupboard so this picture doesn't even accurately
represent the amount of stuff that we got
Sunday was kind of wild haha. We headed to church in the morining and just chatted with some people before the meeting started. And guess who came? Chan jimuih! We talked with her a bit and she mentioned that she tried calling us but we didn't answer. We apologized and set up a time to meet this week. And from now on I will always answer the phone no matter what 😅 Our sacrament meeting was pretty good and I took some notes on words I didn't recognize. Then after that, we went to practice our musical number with the Peninsula sisters and on the way we saw the elders who gave us two big bags full of snacks that were from their ward. Pretty crazy! Our music practice was alright but it was mostly just us figuring out how we're going to sing the song and it was a lot of workshopping haha. After practicing though, we went back upstairs for Peninsula sacrament meeting and the bishop's wife from our Chinese ward came and gave us two more giant bags of snacks! So then we had FOUR huge bags just full of snacks. Then on top of that we had members give us cookies and chocolate and other little presents. We were just like 😀 what are we going to do with all of this. But anyways, Penisula's sacrament meeting was great. Sadly Emily couldn't come like she said she would and Arnold didn't come either so we didn't end up meeting with anyone that day but it was okay because we got to stay for second hour and that was good. When second hour was over, Sister Bohman and I went and practiced music some more and then headed home. Bus fares were free that day because it was election day in Hong Kong so that was sweet but we had so much stuff that it felt so awkward sitting on the bus with everything in our laps haha. When we got home we organized our cupboard so we could make room for all of the new snacks and we did a pretty good job haha. I will attach a picture below.

That's pretty much all of the exciting things from this week but there will be plenty more to come this next one! Since my next email won't come until after Christmas, I just want to wish you all a very merry and a very happy Christmas! I encourage you all to remember this week the true gift that was given to us on Christmas day.

Luke 2:11

11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

Christ is the gift who our Father has given to all of us because He loves us. Christ died for us because He loves us the same. Christ was born for you and He died for you. How can you show your love for Him and give Him something back this year?

I love you all so much! Send me an email anytime :)
