I saw a pillar of fire
大家好!
It's been another riveting week consisting of 80% indoor activities so I'm sure you'll be interested to hear what we've done.
On Monday for pday we mostly stayed inside but my mom ordered us some Mcdonalds over delivery, which is always a treat, and then we had a lovely time getting groceries which was pretty sweet. I got a giant bo loh baau from this bakery on the way home and the workers were so surprised to hear me speak Cantonese! Even though I basically only said bo loh baau they were still very impressed. The people here are so nice :'). Other than that we just did our weekly planning. It was a very chill pday for sure.
Tuesday we had district and zone council over zoom again which was fun. We roleplayed teaching someone how to pray and talked about some important things to include in our teaching which was pretty cool. We also have a new member of the zone! His name is Elder Tsoi and he's a Hong Kong native! He doesn't really speak English but he seems really nice so I'm interested to see how he does in our zone ^^ I also had my LPO that day and I passed the first half of the Plan of Salvation, let's go!! I honestly think Sister Santos is too nice of an LPO partner but at the same time I think I'm doing pretty well so it's been good! I'm excited to learn the rest of the Plan of Salvation and be more prepared when I teach people! Other than that we didn't do too much else, just called some members and less actives and then had our one on one ECG with a kid named Kenny. He's the sweetest ever! He told us that he's saving money to buy his mom a cake for her birthday and he also told us about a turtle named Dory that he used used have. So cute :')
On Wednesday we had a bit of an eventful day. Sister Bohman was making lunch and added some water onto a pan with hot oil on it and then FWOOSH. There was fire, I kid you not, straight up to the ceiling. We didn't know how to react and kind of just stood there for a hot minute but it's okay because the fire left after that and we continued on with our day. I felt just like Lehi
After that we got to leave the apartment to go to the mission office which was awesome! We've been in the apartment too much :') But anyways we went there to film our musical number for the mission facebook page. It went up on Saturday so if you haven't seen it yet, go take a look! Other than that we also had a great member lesson over phone call with a guy named Yip Hingdaih (Brother Yip). He was so funny! When we asked him if he had to go to work that day he just said "yep! No work no money!" I respect that guy. We got to call some potentials as well after that and that's always kind of so-so because they usually just hang up on us. But this time we found someone who was interested in English class AND hearing our message! We were like yes!!! Definitely the best part of my day.

Definitely the best part of my day.On Thursday our zone leader taught us how to make a craft for an activity we did this weekend. Then we got to leave the apartment and go to the chapel to give some of the craft materials to a lady who was interested in attending. When we got there we didn't know what she looked like and couldn't find her at first, but then she ended up finding US because she knew what we looked like from our whatsapp picture. Lol there are only so many redheads in Hong Kong. After that we did some music practice for a while and then went back home to have our ECG class. No one ended up joining *sad face* but that's okay because we got to do some sweet finding instead. We did call finding and Facebook finding and not to toot my own horn or anything but I think I'm getting pretty good at making story posts

On Friday I made some of my favorite Korean food, tteokbokki, for lunch. It didn't turn out exactly how I wanted but it was still good so that's a plus! We also got to take a quick little jaunt to Kwun Tong to drop off some more craft materials for another lady. It was seriously a really fast trip haha. We got off the train and she was right at the bottom of the escalator so we just gave her the stuff and went right back up the escalator to get on the next train back. Quick and easy
On the way home we even got to stop by a little shop called Pie and Tart which sells amazing tarts so I got to try their milk tart and their cheese milk tart. They were both quite good honestly. The cheese one was a little weird but I'd still eat it again. Other than that we had a member lesson fall through but still got to teach a different member which was pretty sweet. Then we did some fun less active calls and had apartment FHE! I played Monopoly Deal for the first time and it was actually super fun! (even if I lost :').

On Saturday we had pretty much all of our lessons fall through so that kind of sucked but it's okay because we just chilled and did finding haha. We also got to do our craft activity which was so fun! We taught kids over zoom how to make different Chinese New Year crafts and Sister Bohman and I taught how to make a firecracker decoration which looks AWESOME. Definitely the best craft in my opinion
. We were pretty tired afterwards because we did that for like 3 hours but it's okay because the kids enjoyed it

. Sunday was very busy as usual. We had all of our church meetings and then called some of our friends later that evening. It was kind of crazy trying to send the zoom links to everyone and then figure out who actually came but we made it through! Other than that we had correlation and I was able to decently explain about our friends in Cantonese so that's a plus!
But that's pretty much all of the eventful stuff from this week! Nothing too crazy but it's been a good time! Now for my spiritual thought.
In our Sunday school lesson yesterday we talked about repentance and I just wanted to share something our branch president said that really stuck out to me.
He said that "repentance is having the faith to keep trying"
How many times in life do you make a mistake and just feel down on yourself? You feel like there's no way you could change or become better. But that's not true! Jesus Christ's gospel is all about change. It's about making small adjustments each day and becoming more perfect every step of the way. The biggest lie that Satan will try to tell you is that this change isn't possible, but if you put your faith in the Lord and trust Him, I promise that you will see it! Your life will change in the best way.
So don't lose hope! Have the faith to keep trying and I testify that the Savior will pick you up no matter how many times you fall down :)
I love you all so much and hope you're doing well admist all this craziness! Hopefully you enjoyed this email but if not that's okay haha. Feel free to send me an email anytime if you have any questions for me or just need someone to talk to :) Remember you are known and you are loved!
